Brown Edwards has been awarded Associate Member of the Year for the Associated Builders and Contractors of West Virginia (ABCWV). This is the first year this award has been given by the ABCWV. The announcement was made at the annual ABCWV Excellence in Construction Banquet, held at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention center earlier this month.

The Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national association with 72 chapters representing 22,000 merit shop construction and construction-related firms. ABC's membership represents all specialties within the U.S. construction industry and is comprised primarily of firms that perform work in the industrial and commercial sectors of the industry.

“We are honored to receive the Associate Member of the Year award. Our relationship with the Associated Builders and Contractors of West Virginia is very important. Our membership allows us to continually support all of our clients while also supporting the communities in which they work. We are proud to have supported West Virginians for over 40 years."

Tim George, Partner and Construction Practice Member, Charleston, WV

Brown Edwards construction practice has been dedicated to serving the construction industry since 1967. Our focus on serving our construction clients by increasing the number of team members dedicated to our growing client list, as well as our emphasis on maintaining an industry-leading number of CPAs with CCIFP certifications, demonstrates our commitment to the industry.

For the third consecutive year, our construction practice has been listed as one of the Top 50 Construction Accounting Firms in the nation. We are proud to say that twelve of our practice team members hold the distinction of being CCIFPs, placing our firm among the top five firms in the country for the number of CCIFP certified professionals on staff.

Construction has complex revenue recognition rules and job cost accounting methods. Many firms have construction clients, but they have not dedicated the resources necessary to make construction a major practice area. The firms with CCIFP public accounting certification for the construction industry have demonstrated commitment to the industry and proficiency in all areas of construction financial management.

We aide general contractors, engineers, architects, construction managers, civil and heavy highway construction companies, mechanical and electrical contractors, plumbing contractors, and other specialty-trade contractors in assurance, tax planning, tax compliance, bidding and estimating, rate setting, litigation, mergers and acquisition, WIP management, and advising on other significant industry matters.

Regardless of your company’s size or maturity, we have the advanced skill set and in-depth technical know-how to help guide you through your construction finance needs.
