We are excited to celebrate David Sheaffer, a Director in our Lynchburg office, has been honored as a Rising Star by the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

This year marks the second class of CFMA Rising Stars, who are selected from a national group of eligible honorees. To be eligible the honoree must be under 40 years old, a leader in their community, and have positively impacted their company and the construction industry.

For the past eleven years, David has been a key member of the firm’s Top 50 Construction Accounting practice, and holds the CCIFP designation. In addition to being an active member of the CFMA, he serves the construction industry as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA), the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA), Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals (CCIFP), and the Associated General Contractors of Virginia (AGCVA).

David holds high regard for community involvement and has made the goal of giving back to his community and his profession an integral part of his daily responsibilities, as he remains active in various organizations.  He currently serves on the Leadership Council of Leadership Lynchburg, as the CCIFP chapter liaison for the CFMA Blue Ridge Chapter, and on the Friends Committee of the LCS Education Foundation’s Dolly Parton Imagination Library Program.

“We are ecstatic to have David named as a CFMA Rising Star. His dedication to his community and involvement in the construction industry makes him more than worthy of this honor,” states Billy Robinson, Brown Edwards’s construction practice leader.
