Retirement- Matt Burchett
Congratulations, Matt!
As of May 31, 2023, Brown Edwards' partner, Matthew Burchett will be officially retired!
Matt joined Chambers, Paterno and Associates as a bewildered, level-zero associate in 1988. The firm was acquired by Brown Edwards in 2008, a decision he's never once regretted.
Matt supervises the preparation of contractor financial statements and provides consulting on general business matters related to the construction industry. In addition to his accounting expertise, Matt has the experience, and formal training in civil and industrial engineering.
"After decades of “reporting for duty” every weekday, it’s strange to contemplate breaking that habit cold turkey. Although I’ll still wake up at 5:00, I may change my alarm tone to Alice Cooper’s 1972 hit “School’s Out” to remind myself that casual attire will be perfectly acceptable for the coming day…so long as it’s a day that ends with a “y”.
In all sincerity, I’ve been blessed to work with a wonderful crew at Brown Edwards over the years and want people to know that I will think of them often and pray for their continued success and happiness. The tools and the talent are all in place."
Matt's primary goal for retirement is to avoid anything that even remotely feels like a plan. During this pursuit, he will pick back up a dozen or so hobbies that have been put on hold over the years.
Please join us in congratulating Matt on this wonderful milestone!
