Laura Sprouse Included on the Virginia 500 Power List

Brown Edwards' new CEO, Laura Sprouse, continues a legacy by being named to the Virginia 500—The Power List, which highlights the commonwealth’s most influential leaders by sector. Although this is her first recognition, this is the fifth consecutive year a Brown Edwards' CEO has been named to the Virginia 500—The Power List.

The Virginia 500, assembled by Virginia Business magazine, lists the state’s top business leaders across 20 categories, taking into consideration annual revenue, newsworthiness, community involvement, diversity, number of employees (in Virginia and worldwide), and the organization's presence in the Commonwealth.

"I’m thrilled to be included among such a distinguished group of Virginia leaders. Over the years, I’ve admired the caliber of leaders recognized by Virginia Business across various industries and organizations. Being acknowledged by the VB editorial board as one of these leaders is truly an honor.”

Laura Sprouse, CEO

As the newly appointed CEO of Brown Edwards, Laura looks to build on the firm’s past successes while bringing a new era of ideas, initiatives, and solutions to the firm and its clients.  With her experience in all aspects of firm operations, Laura is uniquely qualified to enable BE to continue growing as an independently owned firm.   Adding additional advisory and consulting services to BE’s tax and assurance practices will provide new growth opportunities for associates and allow the firm to expand by offering its clients a comprehensive suite of services.

Laura joined Brown Edwards in 1998 and, before becoming CEO, served as the firm's COO for eight years. Before joining the C-Suite, she led the firm's accounting information systems group, supporting the firm and clients in selecting and implementing various software packages and facilitating LEAN Six Sigma projects.
