An Update To Our Clients Regarding COVID-19

MARCH 18, 2020

As the number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases climbs both in the U.S. and around the world, Brown Edwards is taking steps to navigate this public health emergency.  In response, our Firm is adjusting business processes to support our people, and our clients.

We have taken several steps internally to ensure the health and well-being of our associates, clients and communities, including limiting non-essential travel and keeping staff updated on the latest news.   Additionally, we are strongly encouraging our employees to work remotely.

For our clients, we are focusing on our available technology to serve you in a remote fashion, understanding the importance of social distancing in preventing the virus from spreading. That being the case, we request that you use the technology we have in place and detailed here (https://becpas.com/a-message-to-our-clients-regarding-covid-19/), or use USPS, UPS or FedEx to send your information to the office.  We respectfully request, for your safety as well as ours, to only visit Brown Edwards offices if absolutely necessary.  If our team normally visits your office to serve you, we request your cooperation and understanding as we use technology to minimize non-essential travel and ensure our mutual safety.  We will strongly evaluate each clients’ request for onsite service based on the clients’ own response plan. Instead of in-person meetings, we encourage the use of video-conferencing technology.  Of course, we would welcome a call from you as well to discuss your needs.  At this juncture, production is normal, but we are also tracking any changes to agency deadlines such as IRS tax filing deadlines, and will keep you informed.

We are going through an uncertain time; information about the virus is still coming out and there is a great deal we do not know.  I assure you, however, that we are monitoring and planning for what comes next.  Regardless, one thing we can count on is each other. We care about our families, friends, our associates, and, of course, our clients. We are confident we will get through this trying time together.

Despite the disruptions to daily life caused by COVID-19, the one thing that has not changed is our desire to serve our clients and we stand ready to help.

We hope that you and your family remain safe and healthy.
