Strategy of Mergers Calculated to Bring Returns for Brown Edwards

“In the past few years, Brown Edwards has slowly, but steadily, grown to become one of the 100 largest firms in the country by revenue, according to trade magazine Inside Public Accounting, and expects to bring in about $50 million in revenue this year. Virginia Business Magazine ranked Brown Edwards as the eighth-largest accounting firm in Virginia, based on the number of certified public accountants. Its growth was no accident; it was the result of a strategic series of mergers and acquisitions of other small firms in Virginia and nearby states. Hartman said the expansion is designed to prepare the firm for the many changes facing the accounting industry. And the growth is expected to continue.”
