Steven Dalton - Retirement
Congratulations, Steve!
As of May 31, 2022, Brown Edwards partner and energy practice leader, Steve Dalton will be officially retired!
Steve’s career began in the coal industry and after experiencing a layoff during one of the industry’s notorious down periods, chose to go back to college to complete his BA in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. After graduation, he joined Brown Edwards as a staff level 1 generalist. During his career with Brown Edwards, he has worked in three offices; Bluefield, WV, Charleston WV, and Bristol, VA.
He has 37 years of professional accounting and tax experience. In addition to reviewing audits, reviews, compilations, consulting, AUP engagements, and preparing and reviewing various tax returns, he has also investigated embezzlement, designed internal control systems for SEC registrants, and traveled all over the country assisting clients with royalty audits.
“I got into this field to ensure I would always have a job to provide for my family. What I got was a career that allowed me to not only achieve financial success but gave me room to grow personally in ways I never conceived possible. During my career, I have made lifelong friendships and can honestly say I have enjoyed the ride.”
Steve enjoys being involved in his local community through his local Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. He is looking forward to spending time with his family, especially his grandkids, and plans to spend most of his time raising cattle, and chickens, and growing fruits and vegetables.
Please join us in congratulating Steve on this wonderful milestone!
