Congratulations, Steve!

As of May 31, 2022, Brown Edwards' partner, Steve Kawash will be officially retired!

Steve joined Brown Edwards as a partner in 2018 with the acquisition of Charleston, WV firm, Gibbons & Kawash.

He has over 40 years of professional accounting and tax experience. He has served high-income individuals with their tax and estate planning needs, worked with closely held family businesses on succession planning, and assisted them with mergers and acquisitions.

“I have been blessed over the years to work with so many wonderful and talented individuals that worked hard and contributed to the success of our Firm.” says Steve. “I have also been fortunate to build many lifelong friendships with clients that have gone beyond our working relationships.”

Steve enjoys being involved in his local community through volunteer work with his church. He also serves as the Treasurer on several boards including Thomas Health Systems, Edgewood Country Club, and the Mid-Atlantic Research & Innovation Center.

Steve is looking forward to spending more time with his family and friends. He also plans to increase his involvement with a local foundation whose primary initiative is to improve the Westside community of Charleston, WV.
