Beth began at Brown Edwards in January 2020 after 11 years with Gregg and Bailey, where she was hired as a manager in 2008 and became a partner in 2013. She began her career in the Harrisonburg office of Phibbs, Burkholder, Geisert and Huffman in 1989. In 2000 Beth joined Witt Mares when Sabatini Winn and Schultz merged with them.  She is a graduate of Bridgewater College and a member of the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame. She resides in Powhatan, VA with her husband Tim and their two children, Andrew and Lauren.

Let’s ask her a few questions:

Where are you from and where did you grow up?

I was born in Roanoke, VA but moved to Augusta County when I was four.

Do you have any hobbies? If yes, tell us about them.

For the past 17 years my hobby have been being a mom and driving up and down the east coast for baseball games and volleyball tournaments with my son and daughter. Andrew is now a Graduate Assistant for the Baseball team at Virginia Commonwealth University and Lauren is playing club beach volleyball at the University of Florida.  I am looking forward to catching up on my photo albums, reading, kayaking and working in the yard.

What is something people would find surprising to learn about you?

I sang at my best friend’s wedding.

What do you consider your best quality or trait?

I am a team player. I want to do my part in whatever way I am asked.

What is the best advice you ever received and from who?

In high school, the boys’ basketball coach Bill Pandak told me, “You should never have a bad night on defense. Defense is 10% skill and 90% heart”

If you could be a superhero what would be your superpower?

The Flash – there are always too many things to be done and having super speed would be of tremendous help.

What is your favorite food?

Ice cream and mashed potatoes.

What famous figure (living or dead) would you most like to meet and why?

Pat Head Summitt – Basketball has always been a part of my life. My mother and father both played basketball at National Business College and I grew up playing the sport and was fortunate enough to play both basketball and volleyball at Bridgewater College. Pat Head Summitt was a coach I truly admired growing up. She was a phenomenal person both on and off the court.

What do you think is your biggest contribution to the Brown Edwards team?

I am a true team player. Growing up being involved in sports taught me that everyone has a role to play and is an integral part to the team’s success. I want to do my part in contributing to the success of Brown Edwards in whatever role I am asked to do.
