Kristie is a Partner in the Brown Edwards Bluefield, WV office. She joined BE in 2000. She has worked in audit, tax and client accounting. Kristie specializes in closely-held businesses, including auto dealerships. She also specializes in the taxation of corporations and pass-through entities as well as working with individual taxation.
Kristie graduated from Bluefield State University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (WVSCPA).
We interviewed Kristie to get to know her outside of her profession, and we were surprised to learn she has great taste in music and can listen to anything from rock to rap.
I spent most of my elementary years in the Glenwood area. Glenwood is in between Bluefield and Princeton. We moved when I started junior high school to Montcalm WV where I graduated.
In my free time I love to spend it with my family. We like most anything outdoors. We also like to travel and go to music concerts.
Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to read much outside of work but when I do I love to read a good mystery.
Ireland. It's a really beautiful place with a lot of history so I would like to explore as much as possible.
I don't think there is any one food that I can't live without. I don't want to live without coffee and Southern Butter Pecan creamer.
I took an accounting class in high school and from then on, I knew that was my path. I chose public accounting for the variety of the work that you are exposed to. It's both challenging and rewarding. I like the people I get to meet and work with everyday.
