Leadership Spotlight: Dorcas Parks

Dorcas joined the BE team in December 2000 and serves as the firm’s Director of Human Resources out of the New River Valley, VA office.

We interviewed Dorcas to really get to know her, outside of her profession, and we were surprised to learn that she's more competitive than she looks!

Where are you from and where did you grow up?

I grew up in South Boston, Virginia.

What are some of your hobbies?

I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, camping, listening to music, and playing games. I also love watching my kids play sports.

What do you consider your best quality or trait?

I consider my best traits to be my commitment and dedication to everything I do.

What is the best advice you ever received and from who?

I had an uncle who would always say "If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't, you're right!"

If you could be a superhero what would be your superpower?

If I could pick my superpower, I would want to be able to fly. Then, I could be where ever I wanted to be in a short amount of time.

What is your favorite food?

Without a doubt, pizza.

What do you think is your biggest contribution to the Brown Edwards team?

I believe my biggest contribution is my work ethic and being a reliable resource for the Firm.
